Some unheralded programmer at VH1 put together a good set of videos I hadn’t really watched before late tonight in their nocturnal block, and it had a nice flow I felt like preserving here. A quick check found the string of videos all available in pretty high quality from their record labels on YouTube. To embed them here in the order I saw them (previous four posts), I only had to cheat with the Killers video — the label had the video up, but with embedding disabled (I didn’t even know that was an option), which might explain why the official version’s only gotten 50,000 views, not many more than the fan-uploaded version embedded here. Meanwhile, the other three videos posted here each have hundreds of thousands to millions of views already.
I’m adding one more of my own below, “Young Folks,” which caps the set off nicely for me, and was so popular on YouTube over the past year, MTV was pretty much forced to include it in the VMAs, though I find it hard to believe anyone ever saw the video on the air.
