Mary Rambin did a really fantastic job covering the Streamy Awards with the show’s sponsor, Kodak. In this video, she makes the after-party look a lot more fun and exciting than it was, and catches up with great web video creators like Kent Nichols (Ask a Ninja), Zadi Diaz (Epic Fu), Brigitte Dale (ABC Family), Taryn O’Neill (After Judgment) and Felicia Day (The Guild).

Soapbox Spielbergs Show Off Their Skills... →
At SXSW this year, I had the pleasure of moderating a joint film/interactive panel with indie special FX rebels Erik Beck, Rudy Jahchan, and Matt Campagna that was a big hit. Here’s NewTeeVee’s recap and review.
This effect was filmed and edited live during the “Soapbox Spielbergs” Panel at SXSW with random volunteers from the audience. It demonstrates a super simple practical effect you can achieve for cheap. Check out indymogul.com for awesome special effects tutorials! Big thank you so much to Eric and Cat Susch of letsknit2gether.com for being our awesome volunteers.

With such a multi-million dollar marketing campaign on the line, I was pretty surprised to find you can download the...
Watchmen iPhone MMO announced. This looks crazy awesome — an iPhone game that uses Amazon’s cloud to let thousands of iPhone users fight in a persistent universe. Think of a stripped-down World of Warcraft, in the Watchmen universe, and you can play it ANYWHERE. Here’s the official website.

This video, one of my favorites, has always been pretty much beyond parody. That said, this is pretty funny.

From the article: “Gobekli is so old that it predates settled human life. It is pre-pottery, pre-writing, pre-everything. Gobekli hails from a part of human history that is unimaginably distant, right back in our hunter-gatherer past.” (via spytap)
