At this point I cannot identify a single good reason to do the bailout.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler did a pretty good job with something that’s frankly too absurd to parody (and was already heading into Nicholas Feyn territory). I do love Poehler’s reactions through the whole video, though. One of the funniest things about the real Couric-Palin videos is imagining what was going through Couric’s head, and Poehler looks ready to smack Fey a couple...

Good Magazine: Pick your price. Pay what you want.... →
reelfeed:
(via spytap) I heard about this for a friend of mine who works at Good. The weird thing is that all the money still goes to charity. So the real question is how much money are you willing to give to charity in order to get a free magazine?
SCHAZAMSCHTEIN!
justin:
Last night we were out at a bar in the outskirts of Berlin, enjoying a wide variety of beverages (yes, milkshakes even!) and as is typical in a bar setting, there was music playing in the background.
One particular song brought up a hot debate as to what it was. It went back and forth with rapid German precision before I realized I held the answer deep within my pocket.
Now, an aside,...
I’m just now catching up on that crazy Katie Couric interview where Palin’s completely incoherent… It reminded me of nothing more than one of those really funny Nicholas Fehn bits that Fred Armisen does, where he manages to say nothing for two minutes. Embedded here.
The Story of Muxtape →
A must-read update from muxtape’s Justin for anyone hoping to innovate in the music business, or who wonders why it’s so hard to discover good music online. Here’s an excerpt:
And so I made one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever faced: I walked away from the licensing deals. They had become too complex for a site founded on simplicity, too restrictive and hostile to continue to...

What was the #1 Song on the day you were born? →
Wow, for me, it was Billy Swan, I Can Help (Nov 24, 1974). I’ve never heard of Billy Swan — I guess I always thought this was a Ringo Starr song.
Also, I’m totally freaked reading my Tumblr dashboard on this one and realizing that most of the people reblogging this post were born in the mid- to late-’80s. I vividly remember the songs coming out they’re talking...

An interview with David Foster Wallace (Charlie Rose)
So sad to hear yesterday about David Foster Wallace, a brilliant and deeply thinking person we won’t see the like of again. Here’s a Charlie Rose interview from 1997 with the author of Infinite Jest and many of my favorite essays, including “Federer as Religious Experience” and “Consider the Lobster.”
We’ve been traveling for a while, so hopefully this can keep you entertained.
